VALUES
dedicated to my family
Ain’t it difficult when
Money’s not at your call?
When your pockets have lint,
So you can’t eat at all.
How will we survive,
With no food and no drink?
The Gas is shut off,
So no hot water sink.
As a child, I was taught,
Rain showers do fall.
“Just dust yourself off, my dear,
Get up, stand tall!

“Try, try again,” I heard.
T’was something I’d dred.
This chant that was often
Drilled in my young head.

My thought… It’s a value,
We’re supposed to hold dear.
Though, if not thought out right,
It may not stand clear.
“It’s quite Wise to save,
Information you learn.
It could one day impact,
The money you earn.”

I’m real glad I kept
Those learned values of mine.
It relieves me to know,
That I’ll always be fine!
